Disagree.
Ethics that are at odds with natural law do not follow logically in
even a small 'd' deism. Further, ascribing the distance of an
active "god" as allowing a seperation of human choice and morality
from any supreme will is quite definitely "your conception of
God informing and being informed by your morals and ethics."
The same applies to aetheism.
What you believe about God will restrict or expand what you
believe about morality and ethics.
What you believe about ethics and morality will restrict what you
can accept as a valid conception of "God".

A) That was over half a century ago.
Nations, like people, change.
B) There was no claim made that "German morality" is not an
oxymoron, which in this decade at least, it certaintly is.

Okay, lets do this in baby steps.
Ben, do you understand the difference between saying "some people do X"
and saying "I, personally, do X"? Explain, please, and give three
examples.
(Not the first time I've seen you have problems with very, very simple
distinctions like this... you're another one who'd be in for a rude
awakening as far as your logical ability goes if you took so much as a
simple first-year critical thinking course.)

I'm afraid I'll first have to ask you to demonstrate just how that
possibly connects to anything I said, since it was quite clearly Rob
who said, in context, "I, personally, do X". To help you in your
quest, I'll give you a nice easy to decipher timeline.
1. A link is posted of someone of interest to the newsgroup being in
difficulties.
2. Rob posts he doesn't care.
3. He's called on the callousness of posting that by a number of
people.
4. He gives his explanation of why he thinks those people are
bothered, specifically:
>>>I'd say the reason it bothers people is that they say they care when
>>>they don't, they just have a ghoulish fascination, and someone being
>>>honest about it makes them face themselves. Which they don’t like.
5. He is asked to provide evidence for this conclusion.
6. Rather than answer the question he posts an evasion questioning the
analogy.
7. The challenge is repeated.
8. He continues to try to evade it by locking onto the funeral
comparison, specifically:
>>>It's baseless for you to argue that I'm insensitive at funerals because I
>>>dislike the ghoulish pleasure that people get out of hearing something
>>>bad has happened to someone.
He's insensitive here in this thread, so its not unreasonable to
assume he'd be insensitive elsewhere as well. And that is where it
stands. He still hasn't demonstrated the proof. At best, he's
established that he would be less likely to do the same sort of thing
in a more extreme situation (a funeral he's actually at rather than a
sickness he's commenting on from afar).
Rob has made an argument where he claims he knows what people are
thinking or feeling better than they do. That should be clue #1 that
he's not on solid logical ground.
I will refer you to the following set of posts, that should illuminate
you to my position. They are not from this thread (they are in fact
two James Quick posts with a Terry Austin post in between), so you may
need to put them in google (use advanced search and put them in
message-ID). I think you'll understand the relevence once you read
them. Make sure you do them in order.

<JamesQuick1967-3B2F72.00015425022004@news.verizon.net>
Now either you read those posts and now know I am right, or you
didn't, and must answer the question I also asked Bradd and Rob....

Ben you've obviously taken stupid pills so I'll explain slowly. I'm not
calling you a hypocrite. The behaviour that I'm describing in people that
refuse to acknowledge exists is hypocrisy. We really can't have an
meaningful conversation until you look it up in a dictionary and reflect
back on this thread. However if you're merely post whoring keep going so
people can derive ghoulish pleasure from watching someone pour their
