I just re-ran 3DMark06 with the Catalyst 7.10 Beta RC3's

3DMark06 Score: 10306
SM2.0 Score: 4585

I was thinking my computer was slow but looking at some of your scores makes me feel just fine now. I can't wait to go QUAD CORE and Crossfire! I now know I can break 20,000 easily with a quad core/crossfire setup.

Yeah, not to be negative or anything, but you're not breaking 20k simply with quad core and crossfire.

Sorry to disappoint.

you see baddad, these scores are credible because of dual 8800's and phase change cooled high oc c2d, and his score is only slightly higher than mine, so yours is highly suspect with your setup. I don't buy that until I see some proof, no photoshop please...

"UNPLUG THE INTERNET FROM YOUR COMPUTER WHEN BENCHING"... ALSO RESTART AFTER THAT no matter what sys. you have... the internet WILL F**K your scores to no end. Just try it once w/o the net plugged in. UNPLUG IT. That's the only way for sys. to not think it has something to do. Like update search for updates etc. All programs that use the net will be contsantly scanning for **** like connections to the net... UNPLUGGING is the ONLY way to be SURE you don't have net issues when benching.
SORRY I HATE THE INTERNET. I don't have any problems on my P.C. I just hate that the net tries to be so invasive.

Assuming you have'nt fixed this issue with 3DMark06, here is the link on what you need to DL and replace:

http://futuremark.com/download/hotfix_oct07/

That should take care of your endless screen loading as it was very common because of the way 3dMark detected the new HD2900XT architecture (or shall I say NOT detected it anyhoo).

Is 9169 low for 8800GTS 320 (560/1700) and E6750(stock)? I get barely 1 FPS in the CPU tests but ~2300 in CPU score, Am running 64 Vista, that the problem?

Reply to starcraftfanatic

No, your score is about where it should be. Vista is probably hurting you a little bit, 500 points or so maybe. Don't worry about the 1 FPS thing in the CPU test, Core2Quads struggle to get more than 1.5 FPS.

Sorry, lazy so I just pasted the components out of my invoice from Newegg. My score was just shy of 10,000. Seems about in line with others with similar stats. I think the quad cores are having a pretty notable effect on it as well as higher end video cards. When I looked at my score the top score was just over 20,000 so I have half of the best system tested and that is good enough for me.

Using the stock heatsync and thermal paste since i built it yesterday and didnt plan on OC so soon, but under a 10 hour prime95 stress test max temps were 66C

I spent approx. $880 on the computer for everything (OS included) which gives a 16.043 mark per dollar rating. Pretty damn good i would say, all thanx to the egg.3dmark06

There is no way you pulled a score like that with 3Dmark06, a 9600 is not even close to capable of that kind of graphic power, and your ram and processor are not going to make up that much difference given this is a GPU capable benchmarking program.

Further news took my Q6600 to 3.2 and boosted my score to a 16.2k, not bad for $800, still on stock heat sync with temps sub 70 under full load using prime 95

I like to experiment with PCs in general. Have been OC'n for awhile both AMD and Intel. Built a specific purpose PC to play FSX. This game plays best with multi core CPUs and 1 8800GTS (g92) though the score I am posting is in SLI as I do play other games on occasion.

My specs are;

CPU Intel Q9550 Core 2 Dual (quad) OC'd to 4.1Ghz using a Apogee
GT CPU water block and home made cooling system after that.

Ram OCZ 2 X 2G DDR3 2000

M/BD ASUS Striker II Extreme

GPU BFG 8800 GTS(g92) 512 X 2 OC'd

OP/SYS XP Pro SP2

HDD 160G SATA II
