I dunno if Intel owns Havok so I'll have to look into that. I do know that Havok is a licensed Intel developer though and wasn't saying that Nvidia owns any part of Havok, just that they've buddied up quite nicely recently. Actually Havok is kind of a tech slut, they've been gettin' jiggy with all the big companies.
Also now that Nvidia owns Ageia things might be different in the physics department, so maybe Ageia will be a good thing for Bionic Commando. You're right too, it does look a little more like a console game however I prefer to play any game with a reticle site with a mouse. Just by the looks of it though it should be fun either way.
yeah intel bought havok a while ago...
Also forgot to mention Red Alert 3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Starcraft 2
Jagged Alliance 3
Warhammer Online
Starcraft 2
Spore
THERE IS NO RELEASE DATE FOR WARHAMMER ONLINE. Just Q2 of 2008.
Starcraft 2; i'm looking to get back into ladder play. I had a pretty decent ranking about 3 years ago; but I kinda fell off the SC scene....
Hard to say here...
Definitely SC2. Maybe Alone in the Dark (is coming to PC right?). Not looking forward to GTA4 - thought SA was a bore (liked VC tho - go figure).
Mafia II - man when is this coming out. If it is half as good as the original, it will be one of the games of the year. If you have not played the original, go get it - graphics are a little dated, but its a helluva game.
I still have a backlog of good stuff from last year that I need to play...

Here ya go so you don't have to look :
http://www.tomsgames.com/us/2007/0 [...] and_havok/
Intel bought them for many reasons. Probably for development of their GPU since NVidia is greedy and wont licsense SLI to Intel.
Thats also why NVidia aquired Ageia so they can compete with Intel in that arena. Although with the R&D budget Intel has I wouldn't doubt if Intel can put the smack down on NVidia and ATI easily.

That was a fun little read with good information too.

I will agree with you on GTA SA. For me it was too "gang banger wannabe". I played it mainly for all the stuf you could do like flying a jet 40000 feet high and bailing out and listening to CJ's bones crunch.
GTA VC was awesome. Tommy Vercetti was just awesome. But GTA4 looks great for both graphics and more. It takes us back to good ol Liberty City and the main guy is Russian so it might get interesting. As long as he isn't tied down to one gang in particular like CJ in GTA SA I will be happy. That and as long as I can get the Phino and sun over people.

In order of greatness:
Starcraft 2 (If released in 2008)
Mafia 2 (If released in 2008)
Grand Theft Auto 4
Estepona Apartments
I'm not waiting for one game
so it would be alot of games people already mentioned and these:
Alone in the Dark
Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway
Elveon
Legend: Hand of God ENG
Omikron KARMA
Operation Flashpoint 2 Dragon Rising
Race Driver: GRID
Rise of the Argonauts
Still Life 2
Theseis
Tomb Raider - Underworld
WorldShift
X3: Terran Conflict
Sins of a Solar Empire
The name alone makes it awesome.
Dukem Nukem#1
Alan Wake- Vista only, lots of complications, sorry
Fallout 3
I got another one. Postal 3. Loved the second one. Looks fun with new weapons to play with.

For me its got to be a toss up between AoC and WAR... have to play em to say what one
left 4 dead
...mafia 2 is really coming out? oh yeah! that too then!
#1 Fable 2
#2 The Force Unleashed
#3 Starcraft 2
#4 Too Human
#5 Ninja Gaiden 2
Not too many good RTS games this year

Spore (can imagine anyone over 21yo getting bored with it quite quickly)
Witcher version 2.0 (rpg goodness)
Alan Wake (probably be next years release)
Eve-Online, The Ambulation Expansion (this would be awesome mmorpg goodness)
StarCraft 2 (was never a fan of these types of games but always end up buying them, i've a feeling alot of people are going to complain about it not living up to their expectations)
Aion (mmorpg to be released this year by NCSoft).

Hopefully Blizzard's model for building games serves them well and prevents that. Sure, some people won't be happy with it, but that's to be expected. As long as they don't make the campaign too short then I'll be happy.
Rainbow Six Vegas 2
Far Cry 2
Brothers in Arms hells highway
Turning Point fall of liberty
If and that's a huge IF they are relased this year:
Starcraft2
Mafia 2
Grand Theft Auto 4 (PC)
Estepona Apartments
I want to say Warhammer online, Guild wars 2, and DoW:Soulstorm (which is out this Wednesday for those who play DoW.

I'll be picking my copy of Soulstorm up Wednesday!
Warhammer: Age of reckoning
It will be one of the best mmo's released this year !
iam worried fallout 3 would turn out be like hellgate london which's unenjoyable, i like rpg but not as fps, iam fping my life

WAR seems to be getting more and more popular and I'm sure it will be a really good MMO and a nice change up for people sick of WoWs lack of world pvp. I am more looking forward to AoC than WAR. It's just more my style with the lore and atmosphere of the game. The more I researched AoC the more excited I have become for it's release. I havn't been this pumped for a game to be released since waiting for WoW to be released.
Soulstorm is fun, but it is basically more of the same from Dark Crusade.
empire total war
red alert 3 (i hope its coming this year)
far cry 2
hl2 episode 3
Soulstorm's fun, liking the new faith and psy general abilities, and flying units are great, but a curse at the same time (cant bottleneck the enemy as easily)
I'm looking forward mostly to:
Starcraft II (Blizzard never release a game until they're happy with it, this game is going to kick major ass)
World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King ... fuelling the addiction!
Phoenix Wright 3 and 4 ... they're not out in Europe yet as far as I know
Fable 2
Dynasty Warriors 6
Super Smash Brothers Brawl
Armored Core: For Perfect
Final Fantasy XIII ... even though it'll probably mean buying a ps3
Grand Theft Auto 4 ... not a big GTA fan but it looks good
Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3
Half Life 2: Episode 3
Diablo 3 ... not announced, but one can always hope *sigh*
The sequel to X3:reunion has been announced for release this year - goes straight to the top of my wishlist.
Battlefield 3--Back to the present era thank god..none of that future crap.
Spore is on the top of my list as it appears to be the most original game coming out.
Starcraft 2 will be a newer update of stacraft 2, but I have a feeling it will be more evolutionary than revolutionary from starcraft 2.
Combat mission WW2. Loved the original series and the problems of CMSF seemed to be mostly resolved.
I have a feeling only spore will come out in 2008. I put march 2009 for starcraft 2.
Red Alert 3!
Starcraft II
Farcry II
Spore
Possibly FarCry2.
Dead Space
A survival horror game which might be truely freaking scary!!
dragon age
hl2:ep3
brother in arms
sc2
witcher (updated version)
may i say Alan Wake again?
plus black mesa: source, and far cry 2.
Want to do the whole 5 games in order when black mesa and episode 3 come out: Black mesa: source, Half Life 2, ep1, ep2 & ep3.
I just know deep in my bones that the gman wont be defeated or even confronted at the end of ep3, but hey ho.
No way does BM:Source ever see the light of day. I wish it were otherwise, but it looks like this project, like so many, many before, has gone the way of the vapor.... (and yeah, I understand that the project is not technically "dead", but the forum activity is not exactly inspiring). I'd be very happy to be wrong about it though.
Well, I cant wait for...
Tomb Raider - Big Knockers Edition
Rubber Ducky simulator
Teletubbie combat
Tweenie Meanie Rampage
Thief : The Government Edition
Where on Earth is Osama Binladen
Terrorist Hunter.
Comming to a computer near you soon
StarCraft II.
StarCraft II.
StarCraft II.
StarCraft II.
That's all that matters.
I'm hoping Fallout 3 isn't terrible, but it probably will be so I'm not getting my hopes up. If it was Fallout 3, Tim Cain style, I'd be creaming my pants every day just waiting for updates.
I think it's Assassin's Creed!!! And I Recommend this great game. it seems greatest action that i had in gaming! it's movement is very free to move & VERY nice platformer ofcourse. combat is freely and has nice moves to kill & counter attack. YOU should play this game!!! one thing that seemed poorly is "you can't kill an enemy from top of them. ex:rush down from a rooftop & EXECUTE HIM!!!". except this Assassin's Creed is best to be played!!!!
Assassin's Creed
Age of Conan
Nuff said.
I found mine: "Space Shuttle Mission 2007".

Yeah theyve been working on it for like almost 3 years, but i haven't lost faifth yet seeing as Ive only known about the mod for a few months lol. Theres a bit of forum activity, but i noticed alot of people seem to get treated a bit harshly when they post casual questions, like when its going to be ready
...Thats not good welcoming behaivour by the forum members really. They'll get the thing finished eventually, and theyve got a devblog going which is updated regularly and media releases every few months so I dont think its on its last legs quite yet. I did wonder why on earth it was taking them soo long but then looking around the site their not just doing half-life 1 with better models and textures, their properly reinterpreting the levels, so only the lay out resembles the original in alot of cases. Plus theyre doing their own voice acting and stuff (Id rather keep the original personally), so its pretty in depth. Then again theyve been at it soo long its kinda losing relevance really. They should have drawn the line somewhere as to how much theyre gonna re-do, so they could have got it out the door in under 24 months. Hey ho...
After reading the whole topics posts I cant believe that Age of Conan only got mentioned several times. I mean, has anyone actually read the Conan books? If you have, then, picture if you will - an entire beautifully rendered land accurately set in Robert. E. Howards fantasy world.
The MMO is one of the very few games ( especially MMOs ) to be hit with a Mature 18+ rating : as it is bloody, grim an barbaric. The combat is a new realtime system where you can shift your armour levels around your body while fighting (as can the enemy) as well as the ability to sever heads, limbs and combine exponentially damaging combos to decimate your foes. Honestly, can it get any better than this??? Make no mistake, WoWs gameplay formula is fantastic and has at this stage been honed to near MMO perfection. But I am desperate to get away from the 13yr olds and the cartoony goreless graphics and repetative combat and raiding. ( This is not a WoW bash as such just my general opinion which I am using to contrast the game types
).
Apart from that, sticking to the original post :
1. Starcraft 2 - I just cant let go of my 10year + time investment in waiting for this sequel; and because Blizzard rule.
2. AoC - as discussed above. Do some research, watch some IGN clips of the gameplay and for goodness sake read some of the best fantasty books ever created ( Conan duh ) to get yourself seriously amped for some barbaric online combat.
3. WAR - just have to try it out as I love EVERYTHING to do with Warhammer.
4. SPORE - if you dont know about this one you must have been living under a rock for the last several years; or playing WoW.
#. 5 This was Sins of a Solar Empire. But considering i have been playing it solid for the last 7 days [ AND THE GAME RULES - best of its type since starcontrol, Reunion and Masters of Orien. ] it cant be in my "Eagerly Anticipated 2008" games list. Its just so good that it still deserved a mention.
EDIT: As a final attempt to convert the masses. AoC was meant to be out in Oct 07 but was delayed by 6 months to actually utilize the user feedback from the betas and to touch up various issues and add more funtionality while they were doing so. So expect a nicely poilished, well honed and balanced RPG MMO. None of this Patch 0 in the first week of release; unfinished rubbish crap - Hellgate:London comes to mind.... <seperate gripe>
Im hoping that AoC will be the WoW toppler. Then maybe I will get my brother back
PS: and skrew all this "end of the PC gaming Era" chatter nonsense. Consoles have been around forever - yet PCs still pawn.
I sure see alot of posts here about spore. Looks really cool and everything but it's coming from EA, does that concern anyone else besides me? I can't buy the game because I am commited to never buying an EA product ever again even if it's the greatest game ever and only published by them and produced and maintained by an amazing company just owned by EA.

Ya I also noticed that. I am also surprised about how many people have never even heard of it when I bring it up to people. I just learned of it about several months ago and started really following it the past couple months and to me it looks amazing. With WAR being delayed to fall now I have seen alot of people talking about playing AoC till WAR releases. If AoC turns out to be as good as us AoC fans are hoping I bet alot of people will stick around even after WAR finnaly gets released. I think and hope AoC is going to be a big hit but who knows.
