Leaving out the obvious ones, I have to second those who mentioned FEAR.
A lot of people seem to say FEAR has dated graphics, and they're probably right.
But they are so sharp and well done (at max settings) that I'm still impressed. I just finshed my 3rd playthrough two nights ago.
I wrote in a post a while ago - my girlfriend (who doesn't do any fps gaming) saw me play a "bullet-time" sequence in FEAR and was genuinely blown away.

Good point Stalker. Clear Sky does look amazing and i loved the feel and enviroments in Stalker1.
But the the OP asked " The game with the most impressive ghraphics!!"
That implies 1 - current released game; and 2 - disregards playability.
So, even though we all found the gameplay a bit so so and lack luster - I must say that, after trying just about every game that gets released ( im talking FPS,RPG,MMO,RTS's ) the conclusion has to be Crysis.
IF you DO actually manange to crank it up with your extraterrestrial PC from the future then the game looks ABSOLUTELY fabulous. Im talking shadows, rendering, water, sky, explosions, effects, physical effects on the environ, foliage, grass, and finally models.
In my humble opinion there can be no comparison. Until Crysis Warhead or the Crysis MechWarrior mod get released.

Crysis is amazing in all those aspects yes. But to tell you the truth I feel their facial animations are lacking compared to TF2 or HL2. I'm not sure why but when the people talked or showed an expression it felt bland.....and kinda stiff....kinda like how Doom 3 felt facial animation wise.
HL2 and TF2 on the other hand feel smooth and lifelike. Then again VALVe went to the trouble of creating 40 individual facial muscles (maybe more for EP2 and TF2) so I would expect good results.
i like titan quest... to me, maxed out, with all it has drawn on screen, it's just beautiful. The lighting is fun and simple enough not to complicate your life, and all the models are well done for how many they have on the screen at any given time. special effects are interesting enough to keep you interested as well.

grid is good... i got the demo, i really need to get a controller so i can buy it and play the crap out of it... unless someone knows where i can get xbox (original) controller drivers for a 64bit os?
Also i vote for final fantasy 2 for snes (usa 2) some of the magic effects are just creative... especially for when they came out. I think that most rpg's now don't really have impressive eye candy type "magic" or animations that really suck you in the way the full screen magic in final fantasy 2 did back in the day.

Crysis and Assassin's Creed. Assassin's Creed has truly amazing graphics and the textures are awesome! Plus the building design rocks! But Crysis is also amazing, except for the *cough* "lag" *cough*.
I agree with Flakes... the cod 4 graphics can sometimes look amazing... (the gillie suit level) and other times they look so bad.... like the ship level.... farcry I think looks like crap... It looks worse than crysis on low... and that says something
lol, the ship level did look like crap, if you look at some of the walls they have 2d pipes running the walls because they have just put them in the texture.
the outside scenes in the desert where the best, the indoor bits looked rubish, the other big fault with the ship level is the water looks terrible.
although i have to agree with mihirkula about the farcry vs crysis comparision.
and here are some starter mods i got when i 1st played that my friend gave to me. hes has tried over 26GB of mods for Oblivion. these are some of the best starter mods around.
