Amazon's Daily Deal Site AmazonLocal Arrives in London

Amazon today revealed that it's expanding its AmazonLocal service to the UK, with London being the first city to benefit from the service. Similar to Groupon, AmazonLocal was launched in Idaho in June of 2011. It now runs in over 110 locations and neighbourhoods in different cities across America. Now, without much fanfare, it launches in London.

Users can current select from seven different 'cities' in London, including Central London, Southwest London, North London, and Londonwide. Once users subscribe to a certain area and provide their email address (or sign in with their Amazon account), they'll be offered deals that are geographically close to the area they selected.

Similar to Groupon and other popular deal sites, the deals on offer include food, services, and classes. At the moment, the daily deals for Londonwide include flying lessons, baked goods, facials, and massages. There's even a nationwide deal offering six months of unlimited movie and TV streaming from LoveFilm, Amazon's own on-demand service, for £14 (value: £29.94).

Amazon hasn't uttered a word about expanding to additional cities around the UK, but we're sure it won't be long.
