Rumor: Apple to Announce New Full-sized iPad Tomorrow

By - Source: 9to5 Mac

An updated iPad 3 already? Apparently so.

We've heard a lot of rumors regarding Apple's big event tomorrow. Over the last week or so, there's been talk of a new Mac mini, a new MacBook Pro 13-inch model, and, of course, an abundance of iPad Mini rumors. However, the latest gossip regarding tomorrow's big reveal says we might also see a new full-sized iPad.

According to 9to5 Mac, Apple is planning to announce an updated version of the iPad featuring the new Lightning connector. 9to5 Mac cites sources that say the new 9.7-inch iPad will retain the same pricing for both the WiFi and LTE lines and will offer no additional options in terms of storage capacities. So far, it seems like the only changes will concern the dock connecter and the addition of global 4G support, but don't rule out updates to other key components, either.

Apple announced the iPad 3 in the first week of March and launched it a week later, on March 16. No doubt some iPad 3 early adopters will be bummed that their device is technically out-of-date just six months after they bought it. Apple is expected to announce a new 7-inch iPad Mini in various storage capacities. Tune in tomorrow for the full report on what else it's ready to launch.

This reminds me of that Lisa Lionheart episode of the Simpsons, only this time: All the folks are running towards the Windows 8 tablet, they are almost there, and then out of nowhere a cart get wheeled in front of everyone: "Look's it's a new ipad... and it's got a NEW HAT!" And, well... we all know how the rest goes.

I would normally just say don't read apple articles then being as this is a tech site and apple is tech related, but you don't seem to have the self control to pull that off.

Regardless of what is announced, I know all my business major room-mates will buy it, then mock me and my self-built server cluster.

It'll be the "new new" iPad. And after that, there'll be the "new new new" iPad.

It would make sense to put the lightning connector on it though when all the rest of their new products are using it.

Yeah, but then they'll run to you for help 'cause their WiFi won't connect.

Sounds more like an iPad 2.1 to me then.
But to be fair, if browsers can give us a new "version" every few weeks we must bestow that right to Apple too.

I dont think it will be any "revolutionary" unless they add another 50% battery size. having a faster CPU/GPU aint gonna cut it.

It will probably be exactly the same as the iPad 3, but with the new connector.
