Nvidia Releases Beta Drivers for Battlefield 3 Beta
Nvidia's new set of beta drivers is optimized for the Battlefield 3 beta launching tomorrow.
Nvidia reports that it has released a set of beta drivers that will reportedly increase the performance of Battlefield 3 by up to 38-percent compared to the 285.27 drivers. Located here, the new GeForce 285.38 beta drivers are being released just one day prior to EA's launch of the Battlefield 3 beta for pre-order and Medal of Honor owners taking place tomorrow.
In addition to the Battlefield 3 optimizations, the beta drivers also offer an updated SLI profile for Battlefield 3 in addition to Batman: Arkham City, Dead Island and Dragon Age II. There are also new profiles for Diablo III, Need For Speed: The Run, and Saints Row: The Third.
"The 285.38 beta drivers are also the ones to get if you’re planning to play id Software’s RAGE next month," Nvidia said Monday. "The long-awaited game is the first new intellectual property from id Software in many years and marks an evolution of the studio’s design style, previously having made linear ‘corridor shooters.’ With fantastic graphics, a lengthy storyline, co-op, and multiplayer, RAGE is a feature-packed release that offers fantastic value in a time of ever-shorter games."
The company is also pointing users to its one-click GPU Analyzer for those who are unsure if their graphics card can run the Battlefield 3 beta adequately. This analyzer will test the system's GPU to see if it meets the recommended, Nvidia-specific specifications for the game and (naturally) offer a "helpful" upgrade suggestion if the GPU fails the test.
For those who are primed, greased and ready for the Battlefield 3 beta, get your GeForce 285.83 beta drivers by heading here.

A beta driver for a beta game?
Downloading now. Sticking them onto the new build. Alpha is dead, long live Beta.
A beta driver for a beta game?
You are in essence a guinea pig, a Human Test bed with YOUR computer and YOUR internet in the BF3 Beta.
Great for my desktop gtx470 not so great for my laptop 5870m. Can't wait!
oh my gawd look at the graphics in that picture. what is this 2003?
not 2003 but 2006 when PS3 came out.
Oh, VERY helpful tool... like I didn't know this already. How about actually telling me what settings it will run on, like nVidia tool does for the existing games?
Finally. I've been anxious for a Dead Island SLI fix. My GTX 570's have been running at 99% and 20% on the game. Lets hope for a 90+%/90+%.
I'm no FPS gamer, but that screen shot looks terrible. Please tell me that was a scan, or super compressed or something, because if that is the kind of quality we can expect then it is no wonder the game industry is having traction problems.
What do they mean by BF3 Beta? Isn't the game coming out in a non-beta version? LOL WTF?

That's just what it looks like on YOUR computer.
Agreed that this picture looks pretty bad, but everything else I have seen looks terrific. Can't wait to play this game tomorrow!!!
Lets say they increase performance by 1/3, does that make the system requirements a 1/4 lower (3/3 + 1/3 = 4/3 = adding 1/3. 4/3 - 1/3 = 3/3 = subtracting 1/3 from 4/3 = subtracting a 1/4 if I'm right, it's late, don't judge me!) since they couldn't have seen the improvement coming? Or could that have been with something like this in mind, preparing the requirements for the change?

You can't be serious. They're having a beta then releasing the full version.
Also, acting stupid =/= trolling, just in case this was an attempted troll.

Just found the AMD Drivers AMD Catalyst 11.9 RCx Win7 Vista
rage looks f** in awesome, just saw trailer last night!!!!!
"Your PC's AMD Radeon HD 6800 Series CrossFire meets the game's recommended requirements."
from an Nvidia tool.
Lol. I was half expecting it to say "Your graphics hardware can not be identified. We recommend at least a NVIDIA GTX 560 ti [link to store page]"
anyone basing an opinion off that tiny screenshot is an idiot and a waste of space.
not 2003 but 2006 when PS3 came out.
THAT was funny!!
Your PC's ATI Radeon HD 4850 X2 CrossFire does not meet the game's recommended requirements.
The recommended GPU for Battlefield 3 is a GeForce GTX 560 or higher.
The screenshot is from the alpha which [supposedly] only lets you use the lowest graphic settings.

it does say what settings. for a 560ti it says you can play at 1680x1050 on high settings. Read!!!!!!
It said my 260 sli wouldn't meet the recommended requirements but that is because it RECOMMENDS DX11. I'm sure it will play fine in DX10 until I get my GTX580.
Also I saw a couple people on here saying they will play it tomorrow. I just hope they know that if they don't have an early access key provided by buying MOH or digital pre-order they will not be able to play until the 29th when it opens for everyone. Makes me kinda wish I would have pre-ordered through origin instead of just getting a physical copy from gamestop, but what it two days. For anyone that doesn't know already, you will have to download origin client to get the multiplayer beta.

Read wat?
Pre ordered thru Origin on Friday so there would be no doubt. I rather would have got it on Steam but EA shut that down and Im not happy about that. The drivers for AMD will come anytime this week I read so be patient. Their new 11.9 drivers will come by weeks end as well. 2 x 6970s in xfire 2560 x 1600 res on my desktop and a gtx460m/Sandy i7 on my 1080p laptop so Im ready on both gaming systems.
im sure my 295gtx will hold its own till 7000 series comes out

Did you change your setup? Last I remember, you had SLI 570s or 580s... can't remember. Exactly what's the point of posting your specs in every BF3 thread? We get it, you'll max it out. So? Like anyone cares
If I didn't pre-order from Origin (ordered from direct-download), am I still able to get access to the open beta on Sept 29th or is that available to anyone who has Origin regardless if they pre-ordered the game or not?
I am assuming open beta means its accessible to anyone. Can anyone clarify this for me? Thanks.
I have SLI GTX580s
I downloaded and updated my drivers to this beta release.
Quick question.
Should I...
1. Enable SLI mode for my setup
2. Disable SLI mode and make 1 card a dedicated Physix card?

This game does not use Physix so make sure to set the cards in SLI. Nice setup btw! Jealous!
