BlackBerry Q10 Hitting Vodafone On April 26

Though the first Blackberry 10 smartphone has been out for months, diehard Blackberry fans are waiting for the keyboard-equipped Blackberry Q10. Announced at the same time as the Z10, the Q10 will be the first traditional Blackberry running the company's brand new BB10 operating system. Unfortunately, while the Z10 was released right after the event, the release date for the Q10 was a bit more vague. However, it seems we may finally have something close to a UK release date for the Q10.

Crave reports that Vodafone has opened up pre-orders for the Q10 and is saying the first devices will start shipping April 26. Not that you need telling, but that's less than two weeks away. What's not clear is if you'll be able to get the phone off-contract at the same time. Crave spoke to one Vodafone rep that said it would be 'some time' before the phone is available on a SIM-free basis.

The Q10 packs a 3.1-inch 720x720 330ppi display, 2 GB of RAM, 32 GB of flash memory (up to 64 GB via microSD) , a dual-core 1.5 GHz CPU, Bluetooth 4.0, an 8-megapixel camera with 5x digital zoom and 1080p video recording, a 2-megapixel camera in the front with 720p video and a 3x digital zoom, NFC, MicroHDMI, 4G LTE or HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, GPS, and that all important Blackberry 10 operating system.

Waiting to have about $650 or so to buy off contract. Can already buy off ebay but have to save. My 9900 will become my backup phone when I get it.

My office just gave me a Z10 last week to play with. Its better than I'd thought and I appreciate it more than I'd expected. Its certainly a much different beast from what they've done in the past and its certainly built better than the iPhone 5. The Q10 will likely be winner as well. Good job Blackberry...good job. I hope its not too late.
