Blu-ray Site Hacked To Redirect To Promotional HD DVD Address
Source: Tom's Hardware US – Category : Miscellaneous 0 comment
Los Angeles (CA) - Over the weekend, visitors to the official Blu-ray Disc website were sent to the official HD DVD website instead, apparently the work of a format-biased hacker.
According to media reports, at around 4:00 PM Eastern time on Friday, Blu-raydisc.com was not accessible. Instead, Web surfers who pointed their browsers to that site were sent to lookandsoundofperfect.com, the official website of the HD DVD Promotional Group. HD DVD's slogan is "the look and sound of perfect".
There was no word following the incident about who may have committed the act, or when the Blu-ray camp took action. By the end of the day Friday, Blu-raydisc.com had been restored to its normal state.
