With the MultiMediaCard Association (MMCA) and JEDEC recently announcing they will collaborate to develop a joint set of MMC memory card standards, Taiwan memory card makers expect the partnership to help counter the growing power of Samsung Electronics on the MMC platform, according to local memory card makers. The two parties announced the partnership on March 8 and will jointly publish a MMC4.2 standard, while the MMC4.3 standard will be published by JEDEC.
