Canadian Gets Free Personalized Galaxy S III from Samsung
One Samsung fan gets his own specially customized Galaxy S III several months after asking for a free phone on Facebook.
If you're a Redditor, you might remember Shane Bennett's request for a free Galaxy S III from Samsung. Shane posted a polite comment on Samsung Canada's Facebook page asking for a free Galaxy S III. A longtime Samsung customer, Shane listed the Samsung products he already owned (and had purchased in the past) and asked for a free Galaxy S III as a reward for being so loyal to the company's brand. He also posted a picture of a dragon to go along with his request. The person running the Samsung Canada page responded that if they gave a free GSIII to everyone that asked, they'd have none left. However, as a gesture, they also included a picture of a kangaroo riding a unicycle.
The exchange was a hit on Reddit and eventually went viral. As a thank you for all the free publicity, Samsung sent its loyal customer free tickets to the GSIII launch. However, it seems the Samsung company decided to send him the phone he asked for, too. A new Reddit posting shows several photos of the phone Shane received from Samsung, which is actually a one-of-a-kind customized model featuring his dragon drawing from that first Facebook posting. Samsung included the following note with the phone:
"Dear Shane,
As a token of our appreciation for the positive media you helped us attain earlier this spring, we'd like to thank you with this very cool one-of-a-kind Samsung Galaxy S III. This is the only customized Galaxy S III in Canada, and we hope you enjoy it as much as we have enjoyed the watching the story of the Dragon and the Kangaroo go viral.
Many thanks,
Samsung Canada"
Not only does the phone feature a special casing (front and back), it also came in a custom box and features a special dragon wallpaper.
We have a feeling Shane is going to be a Samsung customer for life.

samsung galaxy s3, you will be mine
Maybe the war against Samsung and Apple will switch to a new front, one that will actually benefit customers instead of alienating them...
Appple would, for double the price of a retail phone and even then it would just be the case.
Cool
That RAWR edition phone is awesome gotta say that make me take a 2nd 3rd 4th look at the S3 as my next phone if it was available to the public.
Pretty sweet... that box would be on my desk at work permanently...
Would loved to have seen that.
