Is the UK About to Get the New Google Play Store?
Previously unavailable content now present for UK users rocking the leaked APK.
Earlier this month, Google announced the roll out of Google Play 4.0, a cleaner, streamlined version of the Google Play Store for Android phones and tablets. However, while Google didn't specify that the update was U.S. only, it was certainly implied by the company's blog post on announcing the roll out.
"The redesigned Google Play store app starts rolling out today for Android phones and tablets running Android 2.2 (Froyo) and above," the company wrote. "People around the world should see it over the next few weeks."
That said, it would seem an international launch, or at least a UK launch, is close. Pocket-lint reports that while those that side-loaded the leaked Google Play 4.0 APK to a UK Android device had been missing some of the key elements, all of the features of the newly designed Google Play store now work in the UK.
Google has yet to comment on an official UK release but if you can't wait, Pocket-lint points out that the APK is available on Android Police's website. Let us know how you like it if you do decided to download it!

bertrandsbox Maybe it's something to do with CM10.1, but my Galaxy S II here in Ireland had it's play store updated in the background the day after they announced it in the US.Reply -
echondo The new Google Play store sucks. They keep changing stuff that shouldn't be changed. Stop doing this Google, first YouTube keeps getting constant updates that destroy the usability and now this. And on top of that, I have to keep everything in a huge paragraph just to comment here on Tom's.Reply
