Trio of Huawei Smartphones Shown in Leaked Images

Three smartphones manufactured by Huawei has been showcased in leaked images ahead of their CES reveal next week.

The Huawei W1 and Ascend D2 are among the devices included in the leak, which the firm previously confirmed for a reveal during the event. Its Ascend Mate, meanwhile, has also been further depicted after an executive showed it in a Chinese store.

The first Windows Phone 8 device from Huawei, the Ascend W1, is expected to sport a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, a 4-inch display, a 2,000 mAh battery, 4 GB of storage, 512MB of RAM and a 5-megapixel camera. The image leak, seen above, shows the Ascend W1 in four colors -- white, black, blue and pink.

Elsewhere, the 6.1-inch Huawei Ascend Mate has also been shown in an official press shot. The device's rumored technical specifications, if true, would make it the world's most powerful smartphone. It's said to sport a full 1080p HD screen, 1.8GHz quad-core processor, 2 GB of RAM and a 4,000 mAh battery. It's expected to be 9.9mm thin, with a price tag apparently set at $480.

Huawei's Ascend D2 is a 5-inch smartphone with a 1080p display. It's rumored to be powered by a quad-core 1.5GHz processor, as well as feature a 13-megapixel camera.

The Chinese smartphone manufacturer had claimed that one of its smartphones scheduled for a release during the second half of 2013 will better the offerings from both Samsung and Apple.

So essentially, using a Kindle as a cellphone, since there the same size now? That is just ridiculous to even fathom seeing someone talk on the phone with this "e-reader" sized mamoth. This is what happens when devs overhear the talk on the web "well my phone is bigger than yours" or "well my phone is 4.5" instead of your little 3.5" talks, and just go in with the bigger is always better mentality. At this rate, in 2 years, I'm going to be using a 10" tablet to talk on the screen. :\

Seriously people, I laughed at the thought of smartphones becomming the size of a GPS and now they have. I remember when they tried to make cellphones as small as they could.

There is a balance hitman400, I agree some are just huge. However 4" and under is just too small for a smart phone. I think 5"+ is too big. The Razr M is nice and maybe a bigger phone with small bezel would be nice too. My workmate just got a samsung note. Its huge and would suck in your pocket but its very nice to use once in the hand. For people with handbags is not a problem but I am not going to carry a handbag or any bag for that matter.

"full 1080p HD screen, 1.8GHz quad-core processor, 2 GB of RAM and a 4,000 mAh battery" If this is true for the D2, ill take it! 5" screen is the biggest cell phone ill get. I was looking at Note II since i would just use a blue tooth headset ( there goes all your "tablet on my ear" arguments ) anyways but these are just more powerful and will have WP8, which is a fantastic and innovative achievement on behalf of MS. Not talking about the POS W8.
@becherovka - i agree, but im a back pocket carrier anyways so its not a big deal for me. Got a dock at work, home and car. Only time its in my pocket is when im walking around the store :)
