Lacie Announces External 4x Blu-ray Writer
Lacie has increased the burn speeds of its d2 Blu-ray drive from a 2x to a 4x rating. The drive is equipped with FireWire 400 and USB 2.0 interfaces, supports dual-layer Blu-ray discs and comes with Roxio’s Easy Media Creator software for Windows and Toast Titanium for Mac.
The drive is available now for a suggested retail price of $649.99.

FINALLY! I have been waiting for them to do this, for the longest time. I just hope the other manufacturers, now that Lacie is making these external Blu-Ray burners, will jump on the bandwagon and do the same.
Hmm...but Will you be able to just burn? I am thinking that you won't be able to watch blu-ray movies b/c of encryption and bandwidth issues.
