Lenovo announced a series of new desktop computers under the ThinkCentre brand. The new desktops will integrate Intel's Core 2 Duo processors and include the models M55p, M55e, A55, and A53.

The systems are preloaded with the ThinkVantage suite of software. The M55p, which Lenovo calls the "performance mode" of the M series of computers, also has Intel's vPro platform, which includes Intel's active management technology.

The new desktops add to the slate of choices already available for Lenovo's M and A Series, which can also come installed with Pentium D, Pentium 4, and Celeron D processors.

The new Core 2 Duo Lenovo PCs are available today from Lenovo's Web site and "select Lenovo business partners", start with prices of $1070 for the M series; the A55, which Lenovo says will come out in November, will be in the $700 - $750 range.
