Maxtor launched a new external network storage device named Shared Storage Plus. The new product series aims to simplify backups from PCs of consumers and small businesses on drives with 200, 300 and 500 GByte capacity. The new drives support networks with up to 20 users and integrate a media server that allows users to share and stream digital data to multiple devices on the network, without requiring routing through a PC.
The harddrives carry suggested retail prices of $300 for the 200 GByte drive, $400 for the 300 GByte version, and $500 for the 500 GByte model. (THG)
