Santa Monica (CA) - Musical group Nine Inch Nails has announced a release date for its "Beside You In Time" DVD, which will be simultaneously be released on HD DVD, Blu-ray, and DVD, which they claim is a first for a next-generation music title.
Music concerts have joined sportscasting as a major presence in HDTV programming. However, it has been slow to transition to high-def DVD releases. While many movie studios have been pledging support for one format, the music industry is being extra cautious about the format wars.
The DVD includes songs from the band's 2006 winter tour and will be available on February 27. The DVD will retail for $20, while the Blu-ray and HD DVD versions carry a $30 MSRP.
