If Intel always followed industry standards, it would be very hard for the company to be a leader. This seems to be the conclusion expressed by Intel representatives following the two-day launch of the Intel P965 Express chipset (codenamed Broadwater) at Computex Taipei 2006. The product was first "unveiled" by Intel's senior vice president and general manager of sales and marketing group Anand Chandrasekher in his Tuesday keynote and then "launched" on Wednesday at an exclusive event in Taipei 101, with the announcement of 300 design wins - 50 of which were won between the two events, according to Intel.
