Qimonda today announced availability of 183 MHz, DDR-366 mobile RAM devices. Targeted for use in compact mobile devices such as smartphones and PDAs, the new chips come in a 512 Mbit (64 MB), 60-ball FBGA package and use the same 1.8 volt power supply of preceding 133 MHz (DDR-266) chips.

As the increase in clock speed indicates, Qimonda claims that the new DDR memory is about 30% faster than the 133 MHz generation. The manufacturer said that the 183 MHz memory chips are available in volume now.
