Sharp announced three new desktop LCDs, two 17" models and one 19" device.

The 19" LL-193A comes equipped with stereo speakers and supports a maximum resolution of 1280 x 1024 pixels (SXGA). According to the manufacturer, the device delivers a brightness of 280-nits, a contrast ratio of 500:1 and a response rate of 8 ms. The LL-193A is priced at about $430.

For $130 less ($300), the company offers the 17" dual-input LL-173C model that offers 260 nits brightness, 500:1 contrast ratio, a viewing angle of 160 degrees, and a 12 ms response time. Later in July, Sharp will add the LL-173G dual-input 17" LCD monitor that is targeted at professional applications such as CAD. According to Sharp, the model's viewing angle is 170 degrees, brightness is 280 nits and the contrast ration is 450:1. Pricing for the LL-173G has not been announced.
