Next news
11:50 AM - September 23, 2008 by Steve Seguin

Technical specs for the upcoming Sony Vaio TT series of ultra-portable notebook have been discovered online and things are looking pretty impressive.

The smoking hot Sony Vaio TZ series of notebook may soon be heading for retirement as it would seem that Sony is about ready to release its replacement- the Sony Vaio TT. According to information discovered on SonyStyle’s Vaio Advisor, the Sony Vaio TT will be an ultra-lightweight notebook, weighing only 2.87-pounds and it will feature an 11.1-inch WXGA display with LED back-lighting. There will be two different configurations offered: an extreme version featuring black carbon fiber and a lesser model that will be available in the colors red, gold and black.

The processors used in both models are of the ultra-low-voltage Intel variety, however they do not feature Hyper-Threading technology.

Although not the thinnest notebook on the market, the Sony Vaio TT will be just 0.94-inches thick. In comparison, the MacBook Air is 0.76-inches thick and the Voodoo Envy 133 is 0.70-inches thick. There are also rumors that the notebook will feature EV-DO connectivity and HDMI output. There is no word yet on pricing, but that 256 GB of SSD goodness will definitely not be coming cheap. Availability is expected to be soon, likely within the next couple of weeks.
