Blizzard is conducting a live online Q&A event next week on TwitchTV.
Blizzard said on Thursday that it plans to reveal a new StarCraft 2: Heart of the Swarm trailer, called "Vengeance", during a special live online event next week. Blizzard will also conduct a Heart of the Swarm discussion which viewers can take part of by sending questions via Twitter using the hashtag #Vengeance.
During the online event, Blizzard also plans to conduct a Vengeance "making of" with the Heart of the Swarm developers. There will even be an exclusive Heart of the Swarm eSports showmatch cast by commentators John "TotalBiscuit" Bain and Shaun "dApollo" Clark.
StarCraft 2: Heart of the Swarm is slated to arrive on March 12, 2013, serving as part two of a planned trilogy. Taking place in the year 2506, two years after Wings of Liberty, gamers will play from the perspective of Sarah Kerrigan who just returned to her human form thanks to Jim Raynor. The single-player campaign will have around 20 missions, focusing on the Zerg race.
News of Blizzard's online event arrives after the company released patch v2.0.4 for StarCraft 2: Wings of Liberty. This major patch brings a number of new systems and improvements to Wings of Liberty while paving the way for the release of Heart of the Swarm. Changes include all-new menu screens, clans and groups, new replay features, an improved score screen and statistics, global play, new matchmaking options and more.
Recently the company also announced that BlizzCon is back and heading to the Anaheim Convention Center Friday, November 8 and Saturday, November 9, 2013. This will be the seventh show featuring two solid days of hands-on time with the latest Blizzard games, in-depth developer discussion panels, intense eSports action and more. Blizzard skipped 2012 to focus on getting Diablo 3, Mists of Pandaria and Heart of the Swarm out the door.
Blizzard's online event showcasing Heart of the Swarm will be hosted on TwitchTV next week on Tuesday, February 26 at 12pm PT / 3pm ET.
