The buoyant ultra-low-cost handset market has spurred keen competition among chipmakers, which are developing lower cost solutions to meet vast demand. Texas Instruments (TI) CEO Rich Templeton even predicts that the total cost for ultra-low-cost handsets will edge down to $15.
