Thermaltake Launches the Chaser A71 Case

Thermaltake has announced its new Chaser A71 gaming enclosure. The Chaser A71 is designed to be the ultimate gaming case, giving gamers and enthusiasts maximum performance, cooling and compatibility.

The case comes with four fans: a single rear 120 mm fan and three 200 mm fans, mounted on the side, front and top. All the fans are blue LED lit, which in combination with the blue accents, makes it clear that the case was indeed inspired by the movie "Tron." It is also possible to mount a 240 mm water cooling radiator. All of the intake fans have dust filters.

Beyond the generous cooling abilities, the case is also built for convenient cable management. With plenty of space behind the motherboard tray and numerous cable routing holes, cabling should be hassle-free. The case has three optical drive bays along with five 3.5"/2.5" drive bays.

The case has two USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports and HD audio ports in the top front I/O, along with a very practical built-in hot-swap bay.

This one actually seems, mm, kinda cool.
Although the fact that Tom's doesn't mentions anything about the materials makes me kinda unconfortable, I really hope it's not totally plastic, yes it is Termaltake, but it also it their top tier case, that has to count for something, right??

Certainly in the eye of the beholder. To me this is over the top and much too flashy / boy-gamer for my tastes. Of course I like Lian-li cases and currently am using an Antec P183. I have definitely seen worse cases, this one just isn't my style.

biggestinsectI'm liking this also. Doesn't look like a truck tire (CM HAF) or an anime object (most Thermaltake) and it appears not to have a bunch of dust traps (Antec 900s). My main pc is in a Case Labs M8 and my 2nd is in an Antec 900 V2 which I'm looking to replace. This and the Corsair c70 are of interest for now. Not going to get anywhere near the quality of the Case Labs for the money so not too worried about plastic content, just ease of build, cooling, maintenance and a not-too-goofy esthetic.

WithoutWeaknessI'm a little disappointed that the materials aren't in the story but it's very likely that this is a steel/plastic enclosure. The bends and curves they used for the feet/front/top are extremely hard to fold with either steel or aluminum and would drive this case into the $500+ range if it were all aluminum. You can also tell from the photo that the black color on the chassis and side panel are slightly lighter than the black for the feet/front/top so it's probable that those darker parts are make from plastic and the chassis is painted steel.

Of course plastic and steel. The steel top of case is visible under the top plastic fan shroud; a design practice I dislike - too many visible parts. If this was CNC aluminum it could be quite attractive and expensive.
