Albatron launches AGP6200 graphics card for AGP interface
Albatron Technology has launched a mid-range VGA card, the AGP6200, that utilizes Nvidia's NV43V GPU. The NV43V incorporates PCI-Express (PCIe) technology, which has now been adapted to work with the AGP interface. Nvidia accomplished this by designing an HSI (High Speed Interconnect) chip to translate signals between the AGP and PCIe, thus preserving the original PCIe core and bandwidth of the GPU. The result is a fast, reasonably priced AGP alternative for those who want to extend the life of their AGP-based mainboards.
