Woot! Cant wait for reviews!
O:
benchies..I and everyone else demands them now
Bummer, nothing flash at all
silly me...didn't see link for the review.....my bad
Bulldozer is here, it's here!
Too bad it does not perform the way it was anticipated.
/sadface.
I'll pass on this Tom's...I'm too disappointed.
Bulldozer and Duke Nukem Forever realeased in the same year! Wow...what were the chances.
Getting this rig would make my year. Even if it's not what all the enthusiasts were looking for (haven't read the review yet, but I'm seeing some Q_Qing already), it's still an amazing cpu. Checking out the review now, then entering, fingers, testicles, and whatever else I can cross crossed!
would love to win.
Keep it.
Contest limited to USA.... You know what the rest of the world exists, don't you?
If i win, ima sell this rig then use the money to build a 2500k.
About time! Nice package design. Of course, it's what's on the inside that counts.
Finally, consumers have a choice...let the free market competition begin!
You don't want to see the benchmarks. It competes with the i5 but that's about it. With double the cores, 200MHz extra base clock speed and a 100-400MHz faster turbo mode it can only compete with an i5? Just sad...
It does almost exactly what I expected. I was hoping to be impressed...but at least I wasn't disappointed. This is just enough for AMD to stay in the game. It'll be great for workstations.
For gamers though...AMD really should've just dropped the K10's to 32nm and sold them at the same prices. If a Phenom II x4 can hit 4.0GHz no problem, wouldn't a 32nm one hit 4.8GHz? If I can buy a $120 Phenom II x4 that hits 4.8GHz, I'll take that over a $220 i5 and spend more on my graphics or pick up an SSD instead.
Benchmarks! Benchmarks! Benchmarks!

if i win ill sell it and wait then buy an ivy bridge build
Can you ban everyone who whines about the contest being limited to the USA?
Am getting one even if I can't get into the USA Only contest.
Aside from the whining, why is it only limited to the United States?
If it is to do with shipping costs, I'd be more than happy to pay it if I end up winning the competition (depending on what the prize is).

Taxes, laws, etc. That's the government for you!

Because buying a PC in the USA and shipping it international is against the law, so therefore winning one in a contest is too.
..
Wait ... what?
So many non U.S. whiners here, if you dont like it then move here. Europe and Japan always seem to get the newest tech before we do plus you have better internet speeds for the most part so I dont want to hear it!
I'm disappointed as well, looks like I'll be ordering a i7 2700k to replace my Phenom II 955. (Yes there is a 2700k coming this month with a speed bump to take away from Bulldozers launch). Its been fun AMD thanks for the memories but I need something to better balance my new GTX 580 3Gb card for BF3 at 2560 x 1600 res.

It has to do with covering their own butt. They have to meet all the legal obligations of everywhere that they want to hold the contest. The reason RI isn't included in the contest is because you have to submit forms and pay a fee before holding the contest. Since Tom's didn't feel like spending the money there, do you really think they would want to spend the legal money required to write contest rules that work all over the world?
It's about frackin time.

Actually, you made me feel better about myself and sorry for you at the same time. Feel free to enter the competition you have a 100,000 to 1 chance of winning and i'll enjoy my uber-cheap, uncapped fibre optic broadband that anyone in the country can get.
Thanks!
This is better than winning the lottery! I certainly want one!
