ATI intros new mobility GPUs

ATI announced a new set of graphics processors for notebook computers. According to the company, the new additions to the Mobility Radeon line - the X1350, the X1450, and the X1700 - will allow for longer battery life and better support for high-definition content.
The GPUs come with a new version of ATI's power management feature "Powerplay"and promise to fully support Windows Vista, Microsoft's new operating system platform that is set to launch in early 2007.
Additionally, ATI states that the new cards will enable "smooth" HD DVD and Blu-ray playback of and "seamless" display of the latest 3D video games. The Mobility Radeon X1700 will first be available in Asus notebooks.
