Biostar has announced a new Mini-ITX motherboard -- one with a B85N chipset and a built-in headphone amplifier.
Biostar has introduced its new Hi-Fi B85N 3D Mini-ITX motherboard. The motherboard, which features the LGA1150 socket and the B85N chipset, is intended to be an ideal board for home theater PCs. It has support for Intel's 4th Generation of Core-i series processors, and has two DDR3-DIMM slots for up to 16 GB of memory.
As custom features, Biostar has equipped the board with its Hi-Fi Power and Hi-Fi AMP technologies, the latter of which is a built-in headphone amplifier. Rear I/O connectivity is handled by four USB 2.0 ports, two USB 3.0 ports, an HDMI port, VGA port, DVI port, dual Gigabit Ethernet, a legacy PS/2 port, and lastly, a 7.1 channel HD audio as well as an optical TOSLINK connector. On board users will find four SATA ports, an mSATA/mPCIe combo slot, as well as a USB 3.0 header, USB 2.0 header, and PCIe x16 slot.
The motherboard is also built with 100 percent solid capacitors and features Windows 8 'ready' certification.
There was no word yet on pricing or availability, though the Hi-Fi B85N 3D's price likely won't be something to worry about.
