Bulletstorm Gameplay Video, Plus 9 Screenshots

By - Source: Tom's Hardware US

Highly entertaining.

Bulletstorm is one of those over-the-top shooters that we can't wait to play. The folks at Epic Games and People Can Fly demonstrated the game once again on stage at Gamescom, and we're making sure that February 22, 2011 is marked on our calendars.

Bulletstorm at Gamescom

Here are a few new screenshots to go with the new video:

Set in a futuristic utopia, an elite peacekeeping force thwarts the rumblings of civil war. But deception within the ranks has caused two members of the most feared unit, Dead Echo, to strike out on their own. Now, washed-up mercenaries, Grayson Hunt and Ishi Sato, are stranded on the abandoned paradise planet of Stygia surrounded by hordes of mutants and flesh-eating gangs. They survive on two objectives: get off the planet alive and exact revenge on the man who sent them there.

Taking on the role of Gray, players perform over-the-top combat moves with some of the most uniquely innovative weapons ever seen in a first-person shooter. Every enemy presents a new opportunity for stylish and ever increasingly bloody ways to take them down. The game's signature 'skillshot' system guarantees unprecedented levels of frenetic gameplay rewarding players for inciting mayhem in the most creative way possible. The more insane the skillshot, the more points players collect to upgrade and unlock weapons, which in turn allows them to execute even more inventive moves and exaggerated skillshots.

In case you missed it before, here is the video from E3:

Is it just youtube or is the gameplay in that video super choppy? Other than that, it looks like it could be fun.

I guess Duke Nukem is a free agent now, he seems to have signed a contract with bulletstorm.

You are probably right.. but without actually playing the game.. you really cannot be certain about the depth of the game. Even if it is a mindless fps it still looks fun and like most games it will be worth the $20 i will pay when it hits the bargain bin.

Hey, Quake 3 Arena was a very simple shooter with no depth. Doesn't mean it can't be a great game.

    Senseless violence - check
    Cheesy one liners - check
...but tbh i was sold as soon as the quad barrel shotty was hauled out (overkill is so under rated)

Hope they fix those freezes and slowdowns before they release it to the public. That may be asking too much though.

True, true. I just believe that they could do so much more with the power of today's gaming engines. All these gaming companies seem so fixated on how spectacular they can make weaponry and explosions. While there is nothing wrong with that, I prefer a more in depth game. I do understand where you are coming from, though.

Holy low frame rates Batman. Boy the 360 does not hold up well at all. If they had Fraps running I bet it was in the 20's.

Looks pretty good, but it's released the same week as Portal 2. I know where my money will be going.

oops, misread that date, 2 weeks later means... one paycheck after Portal 2 is released!
