The T260HD is actually available for $300 at Office Depot, but it's in store only. I picked mine up 2 hours ago, and it's awesome.

marcus_brDude,This site is dying.Somedays there are barely any news anymore, i guess the crappy editors are being cut (reason why the "we're hiring" got a bump this week, ps: goodbye janey).Anyways, is something happening to explain why there are hardly any news anymore? There were no news yesterday...and it's happening a "no news day" every once and while...There's a lot of "what you think about X" (as if someone cared or did indeed read it all and used the feedback..) and sometimes "deals news", which basically is useless (we could always get deals on a deals site).Anyways, any explanation?I'm saying it all because i care, been reading this site forever (even before it turned into a "news" site and broke up into subjects --wireless, hardware, news etc--...)...so i'm wondering if there's a change to come or times are getting harder...

I read another site with kid of the same format, different topic though and all they had was a "Happy Thanksgiving" entry, remember most people don't work on thanksgiving.

    Awww..... nothing I wanted

I was hoping for an i5/i7 laptop with a 4850M or an 260M for about $900-1100.

This years deals sucked ass...THe only thing I found wanting because it was such a good deal was left 4 dead 2 at gamestop for 30 bucks on PC.

Still...thats not that EPIC of a deal that the reputation of black friday carry's

Although I partially agree with you, do you realize yesterday was THANKSGIVING?!? I'm glad Tom's was not working yesterday. They deserve a day off too.

That being said, I don't really enjoy the direction Tom's has gone over the last few years either.

Is there something I am missing here? If there are complaint about this site, wouldn't they be directed towards support or just the site admins in general? On here it just sounds like crying. I've even done it a few times and I always seem to get a negative response. Not everyone feels the same way so in general no one is gonna boycott Tom's Hardware. Anyway, say what you want. I guess it's OK to voice your opinion just as I am.

Good deal man! That looks like a nice monitor, especially if you have a gaming system and cable service!

Bait and Switch. First laptop is NOT even close to that much of a discount. Tom's, please correct.

    ravewulf , November 27, 2009 8:12 PM
Wow, Apple's discounts are laughable. $150 off a $1,200 MacBook (roughly 12.5% off), $50 off a $600 Mac Mini (rougly 8% off). The only real deal from them is the iPhone for $50 down from $150 (but of course, it's refurbished).

    Meanwhile, HP has a $450 coupon to a $1200 laptop (roughly 37.5% off), a $400 coupon to a $1300 laptop (roughly 31% off), $170 off a $700 laptop (roughly 24% off), and a $400 coupon to a $1150 desktop (roughly 35% off).

And that's not to mention the frankly awsome deals they have on their printers (the (confusing) promo email says up to 50% off, but there is also a laserjet with 62% off)

What about the C2Q Q9000 (2.0GHz) variation for $1299/99 from BestBuy?
It has no bluetooth/bluray, but hey, cheaper and more powerful.

And yes, I kno what you mean. I want a bloody laptop with a i5/i7 and a 260m (or a 5770m if ever released), 17" screen at 1920x1200. For only $1000.

I run CAD/CFD/Renderings so an i7 esp. will help out quite a lot.
