EVGA Releases GeForce GTX 580 Superclocked for Batman

by - source: eVGA

With the pending release of Batman: Arkham City Graphics Card scheduled for 11/18/2011, EVGA has released the themed GeForce GTX 580 (Fermi) Superclocked Batman: Arkham City Edition Graphics Card

EVGA has created a themed-based GTX 580 around the release of Batman: Arkham City, a Rocksteady Studio / Warner Bros. Studio game. The graphics utilized on the packaging and graphics card are based on the game's signature image. Sadly, the tiny print at the bottom of EVGA's site gives the bad news that the game is not included with this card. Even more puzzling is that other EVGA graphics cards without the Batman theme do come with the game.

The EVGA GeForce GTX 580 (Fermi) Superclocked Batman: Arkham City Edition comes standard with 512 CUDA Cores, Core/Shader clocks of 797/1594 MHz, a 384-bit memory interface, 1536MB of GDDR5 memory (memory clock at 4050 MHz), SLI support, dual DVI outputs and a mini HDMI output. To learn about the performance of the GTX 580, check out the GeForce GTX 580 And GF110: The Way Nvidia Meant It To Be Played review by Chris Angelini.

"The world's fastest GPU has arrived with the EVGA GeForce GTX 580. Experience blockbuster games like Batman Arkham City in its full glory with everything cranked to the max. Not only does the EVGA GeForce GTX 580 rip through the latest games, it also runs quieter than the previous generation and as you have come to expect from GeForce GTX GPU, the GTX 580 packs support for all the premium GTX gaming technologies such as Nvidia Surround, 3D Vision, PhysX and SLI. With all these features and more, it is easy to see how the EVGA GeForce GTX 580 obliterates the competition." - EVGA states on its website

The EVGA themed GTX 580 (model number 015-P3-1582-A1) can be found at Newegg for $529.99, which is $30 more than the standard GeForce GTX 580 (Fermi) Superclocked.

So.... They put a sticker on their superclocked GPU and upped the cost $30?

This is news because...?

and it doesn't come with the game? $30 for what? lame. nice card, but really most games play on 560ti card.

They realize they put the graphic on the wrong side of the card right? In the case that graphic faces down, you won't be able to see it even if you have a window.

Though I guess it does make some sense to have a Batman Nvidia card, since its probably the only premier game coming out utilizing physX.

kristoffe :
stm1185, the sticker is on the correct side for 1/2 of the cases out there. now cases have the power supply on the bottom and the case is basically flipped upside down.

The difference is this: one has a sticker, the other one does not...

The GPU and clock settings are identical to the regular superclocked edition by the same vendor

Benchmark complete

Anyone got a bead on what eVGA's reference 580s are hitting when overclocked? I'm lazy and inquiring here... :P

Nice to see of all games, they're using this to push the sale of the 580 GTX, seems like a massive over kill

$30 for a sticker that you won't be able to see when the card is plugged in.

Congrats, EVGA, you have just hit a new low. On the upside, you get a box with the same sticker stretched out over one of the faces.. you know.. just in case you wanted one.

Doesn't this game use nearly the same engine and graphics as the first Batman game?! Because aside from PhysX I maxed that game out on my old GTX260! Now I have SLi'ed two 460's and have no need for this...unless I somehow find another 500 to SLi these! :-) ...although without a hefty 2560x1600 monitor... OVERKILL!!!

OK. So what if we're just an ordinary citizen, and not Batman? Can we buy one too?

for a game that doesn't need a GTX 580 to run maxed out, to not even come with the game is completely stupid.

this is just epic marketing fail. Pair the products to at least justify the increased card cost.

Best card for the value on the market. Period.

i7 at 4.6ghz, 2 stock 580s in sli... 1080p, fully maxed settings, sliders all the way right, it's playable, before any modding, but the performance (fps) won't break any records lol... its just the way it is.

Too bad nvidia can't get the last few rounds of their drivers right. I have been forced to revert back to June's drivers (275.33) because all releases since then have been massive failures, and even their own techs admit to it!

lol maybe at 1280 x 720 resolution lol.

1920 x 1080, the very least i'd want is a 570 or 580 GTX. BF3 bearly gets 60FPS with a single 580 at 1080p.

Then if you want to play at 2560 x 1600 or 5760 x 1200 or in stereoscopic 3d... then a 560ti would melt down and cry like a little school girl.

Serious set ups needs serious horse power.

lol 560ti... go play on an Xbox why don't ya? lol.

That was possibly one of the most ignorant things I have ever heard! Look at the charts for cryin out loud!!! You're looking at Ultra quality on BF3 which is a CRAZY graphical setting! Most games run like butter on a single 560ti with max setting at 1080P! Need proof?!?http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/2011-gaming-graphics-charts/benchmarks,123.html
Plus, you can SLi them for a cheaper cost than the 580 which yields MORE power! Why don't you do some research on what you call "serious set ups"
before you go knocking solid hardware into the category of six year old consoles...
