Epistar: LED Backlight Penetration In Larger-sized LCD TVs Will Not Surpass 3% By 2010
Next newsEpistar chairman, Biing-Jye Lee (transliterated from Chinese) indicated that he expects the penetration rate of LED backlighting for use in larger than 40" LCD TVs to increase slowly in the near-term, hitting only 1-3% by in the 2009-2010 time frame. According to Digitimes Research forecasts, the penetration rate is expected to increase from 0.19% in 2008 to 1.04% in 2009, further rising to 2.82% in 2010.
