AMD Makes Fun of Nvidia Fermi's Hotness
Just a simple misunderstanding.
Nvidia's faced its share of challenges this year but it has finally a DirectX 11 product on the shelves and now its Fermi offering is maturing well. In fact, the GeForce GTX 460 is one of our favorite GPUs in the segment.
AMD, however, as the fierce competitor that it is, isn't shy about poking fun at Nvidia for its Fermi woes – especially when it comes to power draw and heat production.
Check the video below to see AMD's pot shot at Nvidia.

In my opinion a bit low. But certainly this will be funny to those who know what they're talking about.....

"I bet we're gonna see something green."
&
"Fermi again. It's the third time this week."
Are the best lines. OMG! High power draw! Blazing temps! It's a nucula..... Oh it's Fermi.
Nice , ati is going down and dirty wasn't that nvidia's thing ? Like the nose-picking fermi buyer
Brilliant
I think the GTX 460 remedied that power issue a bit. Good price/performance ratio as well.
I cannot exactly defend Nvidia since Fermi GF100 came out several months late and is considerably more inefficient.
win
You guys notice his middle finger sticking out as he sipped from the mug at about 1:02?
Also, check out my poll http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/foru [...] icles-want
This is what Fun competition is all about, i hope Nvidia fires back, all in good fun...
I love it! =D AMD/ATI all the way...
I was tempted on getting NVIDIA, just so I can make some marshmallows while playing Crysis Warhead
Anyone notice that as the SWAT Team is raiding the Gaming Room that the Monitor is showing the Raid in progress as it's happening?
I doubt Nvidia will strike back, they dont have much to pick on with ATI this round. All they can do is brag they have the fastest cards and better tess. performance. Maybe they can make fun of the size of the ATI cards.
AMD must be worried! If the past is any indication, these "all in good fun" strategies are usually pulled out as a last resort. I got a GTX460 and it's neither hot, slow or expensive - so...I guess AMD's petty attempt at "fun" is a little out of touch with reality.
HAHAHAHA GO AMD!
pretty epic lol
screw the PC vs Mac tactics... drop down prices!!
Fanboys lack sex. It's that simple...
I am using nvidia from my first pc and never got a problem then i decide to buy ati (5870) i had to change 3 cards and the 4 card had artefacts so i waited like 3 moths and i change my card with 2 gtx 470 in sli not a single problem and the temperature not a problem i got the first card at 80% fan speed and the second at 70% and the themperatures never go uper then 80c(close case)so that's my experience with ati cards (i will never buy a ati card again)
fulger, that's funny 'cause my experience is the exact opposite.
Great idea, it could be a bit funnier, but nice.
+1 for the thumbnail. He's giving Nvidia the bird
This is kind of meh, I guess it would have been more fun half a year ago, but now with the GTX 460 kicking butt, especially in SLI.. is that maybe why
AMD feels the need to draw attention to the first gen of the 400 series?
I am looking forward to this holiday season's epic graphic battle. AMD/ATI is going to release the HD 6000 series and Nvidia is going to revamp the Fermi line up (higher clock speed and core configuration akin to GF104?)
The irony is that Nvidia called it Fermi!!!!
The thing practicly is capable of a meltdown and they call it Fermi, muahahahah.
Most people who watch the video won't have a clue that they were making fun of the heat coming off the cards. But I guess only people who would know are the ones watching it.
Hah ha ha. This made me lol
+1 marketing AMD

You were holding it wrong!
Its interesting they bring this up when conveniently my HD 5870 started freaking out with gray box artifacts last night. Focus on your own products and drivers, AMD, before making fun of the competition. You're not perfect either.
See this for what it is. Its a campaigning tactic. It's like Vote Democrat because.... Or Vote Republican because.... You guys need to grow up and drop all of the "Fan Boy" crap. You know if it was Nvidia doing it you would jump on the bandwagon and bash ATI. This brings me back to the whole hair dryer videos from a bit back.

Too bad ATI still sucks.
I remember a certain first gen product having the exact problem??

The sound sucks, but I appreciate the effort.

The 460 isn't the top of the line now is it? It took Nvidia 2 tries to get to where they are now. Meanwhile ATI has woes when it comes to Crossfire, which is a software problem. Wo which would you rather have? A card that needs a revision (another $400 poorly spent) or a card that is great form launch day and goes from fair to awesome as new drivers creap out? (And you NV boys have nothing there, I remember the 101.whatever driver revision and how it cooked older GF cards because it screwed with the fanspeeds on them. )
