1:04 PM - April 28, 2005 by Wolfgang Gruener

Gateway announced three new LC displays which the company claims include an easy to use on-screen display to simplify setup. The screens come in sizes of 15-, 17-, and 19" and are priced at $210, $300 and $350.

The entry-level FPD1560 offers a 400:1 contrast ratio, a 250 cd/m2 brightness and a maximum resolution of 1024x768 pixels. The 17" FPD1760 ups the contrast ratio to 450:1 and the resolution to 1280x1024. Viewing angles are 140 degrees horizontally and 120 degrees vertically. The FPD 1960 comes with the same overall specs, but offers a wider vertical viewing angle (135 degrees).

The monitors are sold through Gateway's website and the firm's retail channels. (THG)
