HD DVD Shutdown To Accelerate 16:9 IT Panel Development, Says AUO
Toshiba's recent announcement of its withdrawal from the manufacturing of HD DVD products will accelerate development of 16:9 IT panels, according to Paul Peng, senior VP and GM of information technology display business group of AU Optronics (AUO).After Toshiba exits the market, downstream vendors supporting the Blu-ray Disc standard will soon accelerate the roll out of products in the market, Peng commented.
