Karbonn Titanium X: 1080p IPS Screen, Quad-Core for $299
The Karbonn Mobiles Titanium X smartphone features excellent technical specifications at an attractive price point.
Indian manufacturer Karbonn Mobiles has launched its new flagship smartphone, the Titanium X. It offers a 5-inch IPS screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080, 1 GB of RAM, and an unspecified 1.5 GHz quad-core processor that could potentially be a Qualcomm Krait CPU, but is more likely a MediaTek chip given the low price point.
The Titanium X also includes a 3G, Bluetooth, NFC and WiFi connectivity, a 5MP front camera and 13MP AF rear camera with a dual-LED flash, 16 GB of onboard storage with native USB-OTG support, and an expansion slot with support for microSD cards of up to 32 GB. Considering the large screen size and quad-core processor, the phone's 2300 mAh is a cause for concern and is, in fact, only rated for 6 hours of talk time and 240 hours standby.
The Karbonn Mobiles Titanium X will retail in India for Rs. 18,490 including tax ($299) with what appears to be a stock version of Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and is likely to be aimed directly at Samsung and Micromax, the two leaders of the Indian mobile market.

Don't buy this. Don't compare this with Nexus 5 which might be just 50$ more in US but it's 50% more in Indian market.

Karbonn, Micromax, Lava ARE MANUFACTURING mobile phones in India. They ARE NOT selling Chinese re-brands. In fact Micromax is the 2nd largest smart phone manufacturer in India behind Samsung.

Right.
I own micromax funbook which in other markets also sold as momo9/iview 760tpc etc. Their flagship phone is also sold under the name blu life one in other markets. etc. I respect micromax, karbonn for bringing good phones in low price range. I'm not a newbie here.
Do you believe everything they say? They promote aluminium textured plastic phone as full metal body phone.
They may know about business but nothing about tech. FullHD display on such a dismal hardware will make the phone slow. All companies sell similar hardware phones with 720p 5" screens which are cheaper, perform better, last longer and there's not much of the difference one can spot between 720p & 1080p at just 5 inches.
A7's, so not the latest. Benchmarks have put it a bit faster than the Galaxy S4.
