Taiwan may become top region for LCD glass substrate demand

Taiwan will be the top region in terms of LCD glass substrate demand by 2007, accounting for 44% of global demand, according to Eugene A Verdon, president of Corning Display Technologies Taiwan.

Substrate demand from Taiwan has been growing rapidly and Corning has accelerated its capacity expansion from building a new glass substrate plant once a year to adding a new furnace once a month, Verdon said.
