The LCD-monitor market rose slightly higher in the second quarter than had been forecast, jumping 3.1% to 29.8 million units, according to Displaysearch. Significant shipment growth in Latin America (up 37% on-month) and Greater China (up 26% on-month), along with growth in the market for widescreen monitors, especially in China, helped boost shipments above the forecast level of 29.6 million units, said the research firm.
