Miami residents use their cellphones the most - Verizon

Verizon Wireless says Miami residents are number one when it comes to talking on their cellular phones. The wireless company says the average customer in Miami received an average of 298 calls a month which is highest level in the nation.

Both incoming and outgoing calls were tracked by Verizon Wireless. The company didn't say what exactly made Miami the top-talking town. Los Angeles ranked second at 260 calls a month, while Detroit (252) came in third. Curiously, New York (224) was 11th.

Verizon's list of the top cities (average combined outgoing and incoming calls per month):

1. Miami, FL - 298
2. Los Angeles, CA - 260
3. Detroit, MI - 252
4. El Paso, TX - 251
5. Las Vegas, NV - 235
6. Long Beach, CA - 233
7. Cleveland, OH - 230
8. Fresno, CA - 229
9. Memphis, TN - 228
10. Nashville, TN - 225
11. New York City, NY - 224
12. San Jose, CA - 221
13. Fort Worth, TX - 220
14. Scottsdale, AZ - 217
15. Dallas, TX - 217
