Modern Warfare 2 Prestige Edition Has NVGs

The first game ever to come with night vision goggles.
Modern Warfare 2 (no, it's not called Call of Duty anymore) will undoubtedly be one of the biggest releases of this year. You can bet fans of COD4 are already saving up for their copy, but given the news of the special editions for Modern Warfare 2, they may have to save even more.
Developer Infinity Ward today revealed that there will be three different edition of Modern Warfare 2. The different SKUs are much like what came out for Halo 3, with a regular one, a steelbook, and a mega cat helmet edition.
The step up from the regular version is a steelbook, metal-cased edition (which is officially called the Hardened Edition) and will come with an artbook as well as a download code for the original Call of Duty on Xbox Live Arcade or PlayStation Network.
The really impressive stuff comes from the Prestige Edition, which unbelievably enough, comes with fully functional night vision goggles and a model head to display them on when you're not wearing them. Aside from that, the Hardened Edition is also part of the bundle.
The regular game will retail for $59.99, the Hardened Edition for $79.99, and the Prestige Edition with the NVG for $149.99.
Only artwork for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions were shown, but if there were any reason for the PC gamer to plunk down the cash for this one, it'd have to be for the night visions goggles. After all, you can't find that sort of hardware floating around on torrents.

$149? I'm all for getting the best that's out there...but that's either one spedcial copy...or 3 copies for 3 computers...I'd say it's a pretty easy call...
These won't be no where near military spec, more like toys r us versions for kiddies. But I guess they are catering to the kiddie console bunch, since no mention of the PC version which will certainly own the consoles and be at a cheaper price than $60.
(If you don't care about anything but the NVG's skip to 3:00 flat in the video, everything else is about the SKU's)

it looks like the NVG goggles are an active type utilizing 7 IR LEDs in a ring around the camera, which explains why this is remotely cost-effective. For the price, pretty neat, given the cost of the real thing.
$149 for the highest SKU...boy, these games are getting expensive.

since that 552 is "Compatible with Gen I-IV Night Vision Systems (Tandem Operation)" and if this thing is a real Gen I NVG for fucking 150 dollars USD, that would be awesome!!!
O and you can buy that 552 for airsoft or real guns as long as you can mount it with a rail at your local gun store for like 700 USD lol so it's not vapor ware.
who cares about the crummy night vision goggles, what can you possibly expect from a 150 dollar pair of night vision goggles? What I care about is the download for the original call of duty for the xbox, as long as it is not finest hour...

I went today and pre-ordered my copy at game-stop. Going to pick up Nov 10th midnight-release.
I still don't understand why prestige edition isn't available for pc?
so get the prestige version on either ps3 or 360 then sell the hardened version and buy the PC version as well thats what I did and I already have a 20 dollar profit and get to keep the NVG which I will have some fun with as I have seen a pair and they actually are worth the extra cash.
