MSI expects AMD-based mobos to play major role in H2

Although aggressive price reductions of Intel CPUs should spur growth for the Intel platform, Micro-Star International (MSI) does not plan to neglect AMD-supported motherboards in the second half of 2006, according to company vice president Wu Lung Ping.

MSI currently estimates that its current proportion of motherboard shipments is evenly split between Intel and AMD CPU-based boards, although the motherboard makers said 65% of its motherboard shipments were AMD CPU-based in the first quarter.
