NZXT Announces its 120 mm Kraken X31 Liquid CPU Cooler

NZXT had already announced its X41 and X61 closed loop liquid coolers during Computex. The company is now following up with another model: the X31.

The NZXT Kraken X31 is a 120 mm closed loop liquid cooler that will be compatible with more cases than the 140 mm and 280 mm Kraken X41 and X61 coolers. The unit does feature the same renewed water pump, so you will get the official variable speed support. Air is pushed through the unit by an FX120 V2 fan, which can spin at speeds ranging from 800 RPM to 2000 RPM. At these speeds it will make 18 to 34 dBA of noise and push between 27.8 and 69.5 CFM. It will also generate up to 2.76 mm of static pressure.

Of course, the water loop also comes with support for NZXT's new CAM software, and it will also be possible to control multiple Kraken water coolers individually.

The unit will come with a six year warranty, and is already available for preorder at select retailers. Pricing is set at $79.99 with shipping expected to start in mid-July.

Honestly this is a waste and they should have never created it. They were excellent with the x40/x41 and x60/x61 radiators but entering the 120mm radiator market that is already flooded with many other 120mm of the same Asetek rebranding is like beating a dead horse. The radiator is not even thick, its standard. Their CAM software is no better since they have many bugs to work out.

Besides users can get a H80i which has a thicker radiator for the same $79.99 or less often since they frequently have a $10 MIR.
