PowerColor Reveals R9 280X TurboDuo OC Graphics Card
PowerColor is releasing its R9 280X TurboDuo OC graphics card.
PowerColor has announced its TurboDuo Radeon R9 280X graphics card, which is a factory overclocked graphics card with a fancy cooler.
The graphics card's GPU runs at a base speed of 880 MHz, while it can reach speeds of up to 1030 MHz under Boost. The memory runs at an effective speed of 6.0 GHz.
PowerColor has also fitted the card with its Gold Power Kit, which expands the VRM phases, uses DirectFETs and a Digital PWM system.
The cooler on the graphics card features a number of copper heat pipes, two 90 mm fans, as well as a large aluminum fin array. The shroud is made of a metal material.

That would just be a 7990, which were at minimum $650 when they were still around, and had terrible heat (and semi-formerly, frame-pacing) problems.
I'd dream bigger.
Also, these specs don't seem very impressive, 1030mhz? My voltage locked 7970 does better than this. All these years of binning these chips for only a 1030mhz boost? Sad
