S3 announces GammaChromeS18 PCIe graphics processor
Next newsKeeping pace with the latest developments in the graphics arena, S3 Graphics today announced the availability of GammaChromeS18, the first in the GammaChrome line of GPUs targeted at the mainstream graphics market. The processor offers native PCI Express and supports DirectX 9.0 as well as S3G's HD and native HDTV display capability.
The GammaChrome is equipped with the manufacturer's second generation programmable video engine Chromotion 2.0 that allows video rendering and includes manipulation and display tools. In addition to the native HDTV encoder, GammaChrome integrates hardware digital video accelerators, and supports the latest displays, including rotating monitors and multiple screen configurations, S3 said.
