SEGA's Alien: Isolation Finally Goes Gold
SEGA announced on Tuesday that the upcoming first-person survival horror game Alien: Isolation has gone gold. That means the game is fully cooked and ready to be served up to PC gamers, Xbox 360/One console owners and PlayStation 3/4 customers on October 7, 2014. SEGA also unleashed a new video to celebrate the golden event, which you can see below.
The game tries to capture the essence that made Ridley Scott's Alien movie (1979) so darn edge-of-your-seat scary. There's no run-and-gun action as seen with other games in the franchise but a slow crawl as players struggle to stay out of sight in order to remain alive.
"Players find themselves in an atmosphere of constant dread and mortal danger as an unpredictable, ruthless Xenomorph is stalking and killing deep in the shadows. Underpowered and underprepared, you must scavenge resources, improvise solutions and use your wits, not just to succeed in your mission, but to simply stay alive," SEGA's press release said.
Back in July, SEGA revealed that Alien: Isolation would have exclusive content for customers who pre-purchase the game. The pre-purchase content will be in the form of two downloadable missions that allow players to relive classic scenes from the Alien movie. The content will even include the voices of actors/actresses that starred in the original such as Sigourney Weaver (Ellen Ripley) and Tom Skerritt (Dallas).
Further, GameStop will provide another downloadable mission called "Last Survivor" to those who pre-purchase the game in-store. The mission begins during the scene when Ripley is trying to escape using the Narcissus shuttle. The object is to navigate through the Nostromo, hit the self-destruct button, and then retrace the steps back to the shuttle.
We took a little stroll through Alien: Isolation during E3 2014. As noted, the game takes place between the initial, classic movie and James Cameron's Aliens (1986) -- 15 years after Ripley's run-in with the single Xenomorph. Her daughter, Amanda, goes searching for her mother and winds up on the Sevastopol space station, which is inhabited by another Xenomorph.

Time to get for some Adult Diapers and play this game in one go.
Cheers! xD
you mean deadspace is like Alien with different aliens (you realise Alien has been around a lot longer right?
I never liked deadspace, i didnt see much in it, was quite dull. (maybe the sequels were better, dunno never bothered to play them).
By the sounds of it this game brings a little more to the table, sounds interesting enough for me to give it a go. So long as its not full of custcenes as seems to be the norm for this genre lately. I want to play the game not watch a movie.....

Yeah but that style of game, game play they are describing along with the suspense in space... its been done and pretty well
in deadspace 2. DS2 was far better than the original, I did not like the original either.
If it can be resident evil spooky i might bite but after the last few aliens games IDK it feels like a pass to me.

I think the first one was the best in the series. Nothing beats being in the creepy environment of the Ishimura.
I still can't believe I went so far as to pre-order CM. *facepalm*
In deadspace you can fight back the aliens, you got weapons and such... In this Alien game things are more like you are a punny human with really nothing to save your butt but clever thinking, timely stealth, and a lot of lucky.
In Deadspace, I felt like "Holly SH**, this thing is scary, can I kill it?" ... In this Alien game things are more like "Holly Jetskying JC, where to run? I just pissed myself in the forehead!"
