ULi Electronics was spun off from ALi, to focus on core-logic chipsets, about two years ago. DigiTimes recently met with ULi CEO and president Alex Kuo to talk about how the company evolved in that time from a notebook-chipset maker to a niche player in the desktop market, specializing in southbridge chips and single-chip K8 AMD core-logic solutions. Kuo also spoke about partnerships and the challenges he faces managing a niche player in a competitive market.
