Performance PC company Falcon Northwest built this one-of-a-kind custom rig especially for this event. The Tom’s Hardware $10,000 PC is wrapped in a stylish Silverstone Icon aluminum chassis and comes with virtually every high-end component big money can buy. Start with an Asus P5N32 SLI Deluxe motherboard that carries a 2.93 GHz Core 2 Extreme processor, 4 GB of Corsair DDR2-800 memory and two dual-chip Nvidia GeForce 7950 GX2 graphics cards with a total of 2 GB GDDR3 graphics memory. A water-cooling system ensures that all components run in a cool environment.

Plenty of storage space is provided by two 150 GB Western Digital 10,000 rpm Raptor hard drives as well as a 500 GB Seagate SATA hard drive, which spins its platters at 7200 rpm. Of course there are other goodies such as an 18x DVD burner and an extra DVD ROM, a card reader, a gaming mouse and keyboard, sound dampeners and Windows XP Pro as operating system.

Oh, we almost forgot - the PC also includes a display : Nothing less than Apple’s 30" Cinema display, which has a dazzling 2560x1600 pixel resolution. For a complete listing of all components head over to our $10,000 PC page.

We come across superlatives almost every day, but we are proud to say that we will give away one of the most exciting and highest performing PCs the world has seen so far. Special thanks go to the guys at system builder Falcon Northwest, who invested lots of overtime to work with us and take the PC from vision to reality.

If you still want to build one yourself, go ahead, but we suggest you simply enter our $10,000 PC contest and take your chances !

And, yes, Tom’s Hardware will be reviewing this creature very shortly. We really do want one of our deserving readers to be the confident owner of this awesome machine, and we’ll make sure it delivers all you would expect at that price.
