Toshiba plans to increase the density of its 1.8" microdrives to 80 GB by year-end, up from the current 60 GB. Notebooks with 1.8" microdrives are expected to hit the Taiwan market next quarter.
Toshiba estimated it shipped 1.8 million 1.8" microdrives per month in 2005.
