United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC) today said it has successfully produced functional 45-nm SRAM chips featuring a bit cell size of less than 0.25 square microns.
Produced using UMC's independently developed logic process, the chips have 12 critical layers and utilize advanced technologies, such as ultra shallow junction and ultra low-k dielectrics, according to the company.
