WD ships 400 GByte SATA desktop harddrives
Next newsWestern Digital (WD) announced availability of its 400 GByte Caviar SE16 harddrive for desktop computers. The device comes with 16 MByte cache and a platter speed of 7200 rpm. The company promises a data transfer rate of 150 MByte per second, following SATA specs. The new drive is priced at $280 and is available through WD's online store.
In a separate announcement the company announced an extension of its warranty for its desktop harddrives, including the series Caviar, Caviar SE and Caviar SE16, to 3 years. (THG)
